Ore Processing: Compressors, Smelters, and Plates

Compressing Raw Materials

Raw ore blocks — Raw Lead Block, Raw Silver Block, Raw Tin Block, and Raw Tungsten Block — must be processed before they become useful ingots. Run them through a Compressor MK1 to begin refining. As volume increases, step up to Compressor MK2, MK3, and MK4, or use the Compressor Factory MK4 to process multiple inputs in parallel.

Smelting to Ingots

Feed compressed or raw ore into an Electric Furnace MK1 to produce ingots such as Bronze Ingot, Electrum Ingot, and the base metals for Block of Bronze, Block of Electrum, Block of Lead, Block of Silver, Block of Steel, Block of Tin, and Block of Tungsten. The Industrial Smelter handles larger smelting jobs when you need bulk output. Blasting Enhancer and the blasting recipe type speed up certain conversions when attached to compatible machines.

Plates and Components

Use a Hammer on ingots to produce Copper Plate and Gold Plate. These plates are required in many machine and cable recipes. Copper Nugget, Bronze Nugget, and Electrum Nugget come from crafting or processing smaller quantities and are used in fine components. Store finished ingots and plates in a Cabinet or Silo to keep your processing line clear. Keep a Buffer Enhancer on hand if you plan to expand a machine's internal storage.
