Choosing a Drill Head

A Mining Rig Drill accepts different drill heads depending on what you are mining. Stone Drill Head handles basic stone, Iron Drill Head covers common ores, Diamond Drill Head is for harder materials, and Netherite Drill Head is the top tier. Craft the head that matches your target layer and install it into the Mining Rig Drill before powering the rig.

Power and Control

Run Cable MK2 or higher to the Mining Rig Drill — MK1 may not supply enough throughput for sustained operation. Place a Battery on the line to buffer demand, and use a Controller to manage the rig alongside other machines. A Laser Emitter can be added where the rig supports it. Monitor draw with an Energy Reader and adjust cable tier if the rig stalls.

Output and Storage

Mined items leave the rig through Output Servo into a Cabinet, Silo, or Tank depending on the material. Use Retriever Servo to feed consumables back into the rig if needed. A Warning Strobe alerts you when output backs up. Keep a Charge Pad and spare Cooler Cell near the rig so you can maintain modular armor and machine cooling without returning to base. Upgrade cable runs to Cable MK3 or Cable MK4 as you add more rigs to the same network.
