Moving Fluids and Gases with Pipes, Tanks, and Valves
Store and Pump Fluids
Fluid Tank is your main fluid storage block. Place one at your base and fill it from a Fluid Pipe line. An Electric Pump draws fluid from a source and pushes it into the pipe network, so place the pump at the water or fluid source and run Fluid Pipe back to the tank.
Control the Flow
Fluid Valve lets you open or shut a pipe section without breaking the line. Place a valve between the pump and the tank so you can stop flow during maintenance. A Fluid Gauge attached to the line shows how much fluid is present, so you can tell at a glance whether the system is running.
High Pressure Lines
When you are feeding a Steam Boiler or moving fluid under pressure, use High Pressure Pipe instead of standard Fluid Pipe. High Pressure Pipe handles the load without bursting. Keep the run as short as practical and use Fluid Valve at each branch so a single failure does not drain the whole network.
Filling Machines
Connect Fluid Pipe directly to machines that consume fluid, such as the Steam Boiler. Place a Fluid Gauge on the feed line so you can confirm the machine is receiving fluid. Store spare fluid in a second Fluid Tank as a buffer, and use a Fluid Valve between the two tanks to switch between them.
