How to Build and Run a Laser Drill

The Laser Drill is your source of ores from bedrock. Build the multiblock before you expect any output.

Structure

Place a Fluid Laser Base, then stack Laser Drill blocks on top of it. The drill needs a clear vertical column. Supply it with power and a fluid — the Laser Drill consumes Ether Gas Bucket or another fluid depending on the lens setup. Insert a Laser Lens into the drill to bias which ores it produces: Blue Laser Lens, Green Laser Lens, Red Laser Lens, White Laser Lens, Black Laser Lens, and the other colored lenses each weight the ore table differently.

Operation

Once powered and fluid-fed, the Laser Drill mines ore blocks into its internal inventory. Pipe them out with an Item Transporter or a Conveyor Belt into a chest or processing line. If you want to change the ore mix, swap the lens rather than rebuilding the drill.

Scaling

Run several drills side by side on the same Fluid Laser Base layer if you have the power. Each drill draws energy continuously, so pair them with a Biofuel Generator or Mycelial Reactor. Use the Machine Settings Copier to duplicate a configured drill's settings onto the others so you do not reconfigure each one by hand.
