Storing Turtle Eggs

Turtle eggs are handled differently from chicken eggs. The mod provides a Crate of Turtle Eggs, which is a block used to store turtle eggs in bulk. Place the crate where you want to keep your turtle egg supply.

Unlike chicken, duck, and turkey eggs, there is no turtle-specific hay or twig nest in this mod. The nest blocks available are:

• Hay Nest, Hay Chicken Nest, Hay Duck Nest, Hay Turkey Nest
• Twig Nest, Twig Chicken Nest, Twig Duck Nest, Twig Turkey Nest

Use a plain Hay Nest or Twig Nest as the general-purpose nest for turtle eggs.

Setting Up Incubation

1. Craft or place a Crate of Turtle Eggs to hold your supply.

2. Place a plain Hay Nest or Twig Nest where you want the egg to incubate.

3. Move a turtle egg from the crate onto the nest.

4. Leave the nest undisturbed so the egg can incubate.

Because there is no turtle-specific nest block, the plain nest is your only nest option for turtles. Do not use a chicken, duck, or turkey nest for turtle eggs — those are matched to their own birds.

Practical Notes

• Keep turtle eggs in the Crate of Turtle Eggs until you are ready to incubate.
• Use one plain nest per turtle egg.
• Place nests on solid ground near water if you want hatchlings to reach it quickly.
• If you run out of plain nests, craft more Hay Nest or Twig Nest blocks rather than substituting a bird-specific nest.
