Incubating Chicken Eggs with the Incubation Mod

Getting Chicken Eggs Ready

Chicken eggs come in two forms in this mod: loose eggs and a Crate of Chicken Eggs. The crate is a block, so you can stack and store eggs in bulk before incubation.

To incubate, you need a nest that matches chickens. Use one of:

• Hay Chicken Nest
• Twig Chicken Nest

Place the nest, then place the chicken egg on it. The nest holds the egg in place while it incubates.

Cooking and Eating Eggs

If you are not incubating, chicken eggs are also food ingredients. The mod includes:

• Fried Egg — made by smelting, campfire cooking, or smoking an egg.
• Scrambled Eggs — a separate food item made from eggs.

Smelting, campfire cooking, and smoking are all valid ways to turn eggs into Fried Egg. Use a furnace for smelting, a campfire for campfire cooking, and a smoker for smoking. All three produce the same Fried Egg result.

Scrambled Eggs are made through a crafting recipe rather than cooking.

Workflow

1. Collect chicken eggs.

2. Store extras in a Crate of Chicken Eggs.

3. Place a Hay Chicken Nest or Twig Chicken Nest.

4. Put an egg on the nest to incubate.

5. Cook spare eggs into Fried Egg or craft Scrambled Eggs.

Keep one nest per egg you want to hatch, and keep cooked eggs separate from incubating ones so you do not mix up your stock.
