How to Craft a Hay Nest in the Incubation Mod

Crafting the Base Hay Nest

Start with the plain Hay Nest. It is the base block for the hay nest family and the one you build first. Place it wherever you want eggs to sit — on a floor, in a coop, or on a platform.

Once you have a Hay Nest, you can branch into the species-specific versions:

• Hay Chicken Nest
• Hay Duck Nest
• Hay Turkey Nest

Each of these is a separate block, so decide which bird you are raising before you commit materials.

Using the Nest

A nest is a placement block, not a container. Put it down, then place the matching egg type on or near it. The nest holds the egg in position so it can incubate.

If you want a cheaper or more rustic look, the twig family works the same way:

• Twig Nest
• Twig Chicken Nest
• Twig Duck Nest
• Twig Turkey Nest

Pick hay when you want a sturdier-looking nest and twig when you want a lighter one. Both serve the same incubation role.

Practical Tips

• Build one nest per egg you plan to incubate.
• Keep the nest on solid ground so eggs do not roll off.
• Match the nest type to the bird: chicken eggs with chicken nests, turtle eggs with a suitable nest, and so on.
• If you are unsure which nest you need, craft the plain Hay Nest or Twig Nest first and upgrade later.
