Smelting with Furnace Slab, Blast Furnace Slab and Smoker Slab

The Furnace Slab, Blast Furnace Slab and Smoker Slab bring cooking and smelting into a half-block form. Each one processes items the way its full-size counterpart does, but occupies only a slab's space.

Crafting the Slabs

Each slab is produced through a crafting recipe in the crafting grid. Use the corresponding full block as your starting point and follow the recipe pattern shown in the crafting interface. The Furnace Slab, Blast Furnace Slab and Smoker Slab are separate items, so craft the one that matches the processing you need.

Running a Slab Furnace

1. Place the slab on a solid surface.

2. Add fuel to the fuel slot.

3. Add the item you want to process to the input slot.

4. Collect the output when processing finishes.

Use the Furnace Slab for general smelting, the Blast Furnace Slab for ore and metal processing, and the Smoker Slab for food. Because they are slabs, you can stack them against walls or under overhangs where a full furnace would not fit. Break the slab to retrieve it and move your setup.
