Viewing Custom 3D Models on Mechanical Blocks

Activate the Resource Pack

First, ensure the Improved Create 32x Model pack is enabled in your Resource Packs settings. Open the pause menu, navigate to Options → Resource Packs, and move it from the Available list to the Selected list.

Place Directional Blocks to See Model Variants

The mod includes specialized 3D shapes that change based on placement direction and wall position. Craft or obtain directional Create blocks like shafts, gearboxes, or mechanical components. Place the same block on a floor, ceiling, and walls in different orientations—you'll notice the 3D model adapts with side caps, corner pieces, and directional connectors.

Check Diagonal Connections

When aligning diagonal tracks or shafts, the mod provides distinct models for diagonal start, middle, and end pieces. Arrange these in a diagonal line to see how the connecting geometry transitions smoothly between each segment.

Inspect Posts and Handles

Place posts and post ends to observe how caps and connecting pieces render. Attach handles and indicators to contraptions—these will show animated states as your machines operate, bringing mechanical movement to life visually.
