Impaled Mod Progression: From Ancient Trident to Maelstrom

Understand the Recipe Types

The Impaled Mod uses two recipe types: smithing and crafting_shaped. The smithing recipes handle the trident upgrade chain, while the single crafting_shaped recipe covers one of the eight registry items. Plan your materials around these two stations: a smithing table and a crafting table.

Follow the Trident Chain

Start with the Ancient Trident. It is the entry point of the trident family and is made with a smithing recipe. From there, upgrade into the Elder Trident, then continue toward the Maelstrom. The Elder Guardian Eye is the guardian-tier material you need for the Elder Trident step, so farm guardians before you begin. Each step consumes the previous trident as the base item, so never discard a trident you have already made.

Branch Into the Other Tridents

The Hellfork, Pitchfork, Soulfork, and Atlan are separate registry entries. Some are reached through the smithing chain and one is produced by the crafting_shaped recipe. Check both the smithing table and the crafting table when a trident is not appearing in the smithing output. Keep every trident you craft; each one is either a finished weapon or the base for the next upgrade in the Impaled Mod progression.
