How to Use Leaf Piles, Bark and Ground Cover Blocks

Lay Down Leaf Piles

Leaf Pile blocks come in Acacia Leaf Pile, Birch Leaf Pile, Cherry Leaf Pile, Dark Oak Leaf Pile, Jungle Leaf Pile, Mangrove Leaf Pile, Azalea Leaf Pile and Flowering Azalea Leaf Pile. Place them on the ground under the matching tree type to simulate fallen foliage. Flowering Azalea Leaf Pile and Azalea Leaf Pile work well around Azalea Flowers and Azalea Flower Pile for a layered shrub bed.

Add Bark and Ground Detail

Bark blocks — Acacia Bark, Birch Bark, Dark Oak Bark and Jungle Bark — sit alongside the leaf piles as surface detail. Combine them with Dune Grass, Frosty Fern, Ivy, Frost, Icicle and Ice Sickle for cold or coastal scenes. Moss Clump, Golden Moss Clump and Enchanted Golden Moss Clump fill in shaded ground.

Build Soil and Farmland Layers

Loam, Grassy Loam, Loamy Farmland, Silt, Grassy Silt, Sandy Dirt, Grassy Sandy Dirt, Earthen Clay, Grassy Earthen Clay, Earthen Clay Farmland and Permafrost with Grassy Permafrost give you a full ground palette. Use Loam and Grassy Loam for paths, Silt and Grassy Silt near water, Sandy Dirt and Grassy Sandy Dirt for beaches, and Earthen Clay with Earthen Clay Farmland for tilled plots. Layer Leaf Piles on top of these soils so the ground reads as one continuous surface rather than separate blocks.
