How to Use Cut Iron and Exposed Iron

Cut Iron basics

Cut Iron is a decorative metal block with Slab and Stairs variants. It is the clean, unweathered form. Use it for industrial floors, panel walls, and machine housings.

Weathering to Exposed Iron

Exposed Cut Iron, Exposed Cut Iron Slab and Exposed Cut Iron Stairs are the weathered versions of the Cut Iron family. The mod also adds Exposed Plate Iron, Exposed Plate Iron Slab and Exposed Plate Iron Stairs, plus Exposed Iron Bars, Exposed Iron Door and Exposed Iron Trapdoor.

The progression is the same as other weathering chains in the mod: place the clean block and let it weather, or force the change through a smelting or blasting recipe. If a direct recipe does not show in your recipe book, place the clean block in a furnace and check the output — smelting and blasting are both supported recipe types.

Building an industrial set

Combine the iron family with the other metal-look blocks:

• Cut Iron for structural frames and clean panels.
• Exposed Cut Iron for the same shapes after weathering.
• Exposed Plate Iron for flat wall panels.
• Exposed Iron Bars for windows and railings.
• Exposed Iron Door and Exposed Iron Trapdoor for entrances and hatches.

A simple build: a Cut Iron floor, Exposed Plate Iron walls, Exposed Iron Bars windows, and an Exposed Iron Door. Add Cracked Bricks or Mossy Stone around the base to blend the metal into an overgrown ruin.
