How to Make Charred Wood from Logs

Turning logs into charred building blocks

Charred Log, Charred Planks, Charred Slab, Charred Stairs, Charred Fence and Charred Fence Gate form a full wood family. You get the base material by processing logs through fire-based recipes rather than a crafting table.

Place your logs into a furnace or blast furnace. Smelting and blasting are both supported recipe types, so either works — blasting is faster. The output is Charred Log. Once you have Charred Log, convert it into Charred Planks the same way you would convert any log into planks.
