How to Build with Cracked and Mossy Bricks

Two weathering families

The mod adds two related stone families you can mix freely:

• Cracked variants: Cracked Bricks, Cracked Stone Bricks, Cracked Deepslate Bricks, Cracked Deepslate Tiles, Cracked Nether Bricks, Cracked End Stone Bricks, Cracked Prismarine Bricks, Cracked Polished Blackstone Bricks.
• Mossy variants: Mossy Bricks, Mossy Stone, Mossy Chiseled Stone Bricks.

Each cracked family also has a Slab, Stairs and Wall version, so you can build full structures in a ruined style.

Getting cracked blocks

Cracked blocks come from smelting or blasting the intact version. Put Bricks in a furnace to get Cracked Bricks, Stone Bricks to get Cracked Stone Bricks, Deepslate Bricks to get Cracked Deepslate Bricks, and so on. Blasting is faster and gives the same result. This is the main progression loop: craft the clean block, then fire it to crack it.

Getting mossy blocks

Mossy Bricks, Mossy Stone and Mossy Chiseled Stone Bricks are made by combining the base block with Moss Clump in a crafting recipe. Gather Moss Clump from mossy terrain, then craft the mossy version of each block you want.

Building a ruin

Layer the families for depth:

1. Lay Cracked Bricks as the main wall.

2. Replace random blocks with Mossy Bricks.

3. Add Cracked Brick Stairs and Cracked Brick Slabs as broken edges.

4. Cap with Cracked Brick Wall segments as toppled parapets.

Repeat the same pattern with Deepslate, Nether Brick, End Stone Brick, Prismarine Brick or Polished Blackstone Brick variants for different biomes.
