How to Craft and Place an Extendable Post

Crafting the Extendable Post

The Extendable Post is the only post block in the mod that is not tied to a metal type. Craft it with a shaped recipe on a crafting table. Because it is a shaped recipe, arrange the required ingredients in the exact pattern shown in your recipe book or JEI. Once crafted, the Extendable Post appears in your inventory as a single block you can place like any other post.

Placing and Using It

Place the Extendable Post on the ground where you want a vertical support. It behaves as a post block, so it connects visually with the metal fences and rods around it. Use it as the central column when you build a structure out of Constantan Fence, Copper Fence, Electrum Fence, Gold Fence, Iron Fence, Lead Fence, Nickel Fence, Silver Fence, or Uranium Fence. Because it is extendable, you can stack or extend it to reach the height you need without switching to a different block. Pair it with the matching metal rod for that metal — for example, an Iron Rod under an Iron Fence — so the post reads as one continuous piece. If you are building a long run of fencing, place Extendable Posts at regular intervals and run the metal fence between them.

Mixing Metals

Nothing stops you from topping an Extendable Post with a different metal fence than the one next to it. Use this to mark junctions, gateways, or decorative corners where two metal types meet.
