Optimize Shader Performance on Low-End Hardware

Reduce Shadow Quality

Lower shadow map resolution or disable shadow filtering to significantly improve frame rate. Shadows will appear slightly blockier but the performance gain is substantial on potato hardware.

Disable or Lower Bloom

Bloom is visually impressive but computationally expensive. Reduce bloom intensity or disable it entirely if frame rate is your priority. The shader will still look good without it.

Adjust Render Distance and Chunk Loading

Shaders process more chunks when render distance is high. Lower your render distance setting in video options to reduce the area the shader must process each frame.

Fine-Tune Lighting Complexity

Look for options related to light propagation, dynamic lighting, or ambient occlusion. Disabling or reducing these features frees up GPU resources for smoother gameplay.

Monitor Frame Rate

Make one change at a time and check your FPS. This helps you identify which settings have the biggest impact on your specific hardware. Humid Shaders is designed to run on budget systems, so you should achieve playable frame rates with modest adjustments.
