Achieve Natural-Looking Colors and Lighting Balance
Understand Realistic Preset Mode
Humid Shaders uses a realistic preset style that prioritizes balanced, natural colors over vibrant or oversaturated visuals. This means grass looks like grass, stone looks like stone, and lighting mimics real-world behavior.
Adjust Color Saturation
If colors feel too washed out or too vivid, locate saturation or color intensity sliders in the shader menu. Increase saturation slightly for more vibrant blocks, or decrease it for a more muted, natural appearance.
Balance Ambient Light and Shadows
Ambient light controls how bright unlit areas appear. Too much ambient light flattens shadows and removes depth; too little makes caves and night unreasonably dark. Adjust until shaded areas feel naturally dim but still navigable.
Test at Different Times
Visit your world at sunrise, noon, sunset, and night to see how your color and lighting adjustments look across different sky conditions. Natural lighting should feel consistent and realistic throughout the day cycle.
Compare Before and After
Toggle the shader on and off to compare your tuned settings against vanilla lighting. Your adjustments should enhance clarity and atmosphere without making the world look artificial.
