Reduce Performance Impact While Keeping Visual Quality

Open Shader Settings

Access Video Settings > Shaders > Shader Options and navigate to Horizon Reimagined's configuration panel.

Lower Shadow Resolution

Find Shadow Map Resolution, Shadow Quality, or Shadow Distance settings. Reducing these decreases the detail and range of shadows, freeing up GPU resources while maintaining the overall lighting effect.

Disable or Reduce Advanced Effects

Look for toggles for Ambient Occlusion, Bloom, Volumetric Lighting, or Parallax Mapping. Disabling or lowering these effects significantly improves frame rates without removing the core vibrant lighting.

Adjust Render Distance Balance

If the shader still impacts performance, lower shadow render distance separately from your world render distance. Shadows will fade at distance, but nearby areas remain detailed.

Test Frame Rate Changes

Make one adjustment at a time and check your FPS. This helps identify which settings impact your system most. Find the balance between visual appeal and smooth gameplay for your hardware.

Monitor Stability

Play for several minutes to ensure settings are stable and consistent.
