Make Shadows More Defined and Dramatic

Open Shader Configuration

Access the shader options menu from Video Settings > Shaders > Shader Options, then select Horizon Reimagined.

Locate Shadow Settings

Find options labeled Shadow Distance, Shadow Intensity, Shadow Contrast, or Shadow Softness. These directly control how pronounced shadows appear on terrain and structures.

Increase Shadow Depth

Raise the shadow intensity or contrast slider to make shadows darker and more defined. This creates stronger visual separation between lit and shaded areas, adding depth to your builds and landscape.

Adjust Shadow Softness

If shadows appear too harsh or pixelated, reduce the softness value slightly. If they're too blurry, increase it. The goal is crisp shadows that still blend naturally with surrounding terrain.

Test Different Locations

Walk through varied terrain—forests, mountains, and your builds—to see how shadows interact with different block types. Adjust until the effect enhances rather than overwhelms your world's appearance.
