Crafting the Iron and Redstone Hooks

Iron Hook Recipe

Once you have a Wooden Hook, gather iron ingots. Open a crafting table and lay out the shaped recipe for the Iron Hook. Iron is common enough that you can craft several Iron Hooks without much cost, making this the tier you use for everyday tasks.

Redstone Hook Recipe

After the Iron Hook, collect redstone dust. The Redstone Hook uses a shaped recipe that combines your iron-tier progress with redstone. Craft it at the same crafting table. Redstone dust drops from redstone ore, so mine a stack before starting.

Progression Order

Follow this order strictly: Wooden Hook, then Iron Hook, then Redstone Hook. Each hook is a distinct registry item, so you cannot substitute one for another in a recipe. If a recipe calls for the Iron Hook, a Wooden Hook will not work.

Practical Tips

• Keep one of each crafted hook in a chest so you can compare them.
• Craft spares of the Iron Hook before moving to Redstone, since iron is easier to replace than redstone if you run low.
• All five hooks use shaped crafting, so a standard crafting table is enough — no furnace or special block is required.
