Adjust Water Reflections and Clarity

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated key (usually found in your controls menu under shader settings). Look for the water or reflection category in the settings panel.

Fine-Tune Water Appearance

Locate options related to water surface quality, reflection strength, and wave intensity. Increasing reflection strength will make clouds, sky, and terrain more visible on water surfaces. Adjusting wave settings controls how much the water surface ripples and distorts reflections.

If your frame rate drops significantly after enabling high-quality water reflections, reduce the reflection resolution or disable some reflection features. This shader prioritizes smooth gameplay, so you can scale these settings to match your hardware.

Test Your Changes

Travelto a large body of water—ocean, lake, or river—to see your adjustments in real time. The changes are immediate, so you can experiment without restarting. Pay attention to how sunlight interacts with the water surface and whether reflections feel natural for your preferred visual style.
