Troubleshoot Visual Glitches and Artifacts
Identify the Problem
Note where glitches appear: water surfaces, shadows, sky, or specific block types. This helps narrow down which shader component needs adjustment.
Reset Shader Settings to Default
If you've made many custom adjustments, return all shader options to their default state. This eliminates configuration conflicts and lets you rebuild settings incrementally.
Update or Reinstall the Shader
Ensure you're using the latest version of HighFramesExtra Shaders. Older versions may have compatibility issues with your current Minecraft setup.
Check Graphics Driver
Outdated GPU drivers can cause visual artifacts with any shader. Update your graphics card drivers through your manufacturer's control panel.
Reduce Shader Intensity
Lower all shader settings to minimum values temporarily. If glitches disappear, gradually increase individual settings one at a time to identify which feature causes the problem.
Verify World Settings
Confirm that your world's graphics settings (render distance, chunk loading) aren't conflicting with shader options. Very high render distances can amplify shader-related issues on low-end systems.
Report Persistent Issues
If problems continue after troubleshooting, document the exact glitch with screenshots and your system specs for community support.
