Maintain Vanilla Aesthetics While Using Shaders
Understand HighFramesExtra's Design Philosophy
This shader is built to preserve Minecraft's classic block and mob appearance. Unlike heavy shaders with dramatic color grading, HighFramesExtra applies subtle enhancements that don't alter the fundamental look of your world.
Disable Heavy Color Filters
In shader settings, ensure any color saturation or tone mapping options are set to minimal or off. HighFramesExtra avoids aggressive filters by default, but some systems may have optional color adjustments—keep these disabled if you want pure vanilla colors.
Use Lighting Softening Sparingly
The shader's main visual feature is smoothed lighting and shadows. If you want maximum vanilla fidelity, reduce the lighting softness slider to a low value. This keeps block edges crisp and recognizable.
Keep Reflections Subtle
Water reflections should look clean and understated. If they appear too pronounced or unrealistic, lower the reflection intensity in shader options.
Test in Different Lighting
Explore caves, forests, and open sky areas. The shader should enhance clarity without making your world feel filtered or artificial. Adjust settings until the game looks like vanilla Minecraft with a polish pass.
