Getting Started with Hexerei: Your First Workstations

Build the core stations first

Your progression runs through three blocks: the Mixing Cauldron, the Drying Rack, and the Altar. Craft a Mixing Cauldron and place it where you have water access, since it is the station you will return to for most processing. Build a Drying Rack next and hang it somewhere with room around it, because you will leave items on it to dry over time rather than crafting them instantly.

Set up your woodworking and storage

Craft a Woodcutter from one of the wood types available to you — Mahogany Woodcutter or Willow Woodcutter — so you can turn logs into the full family of building blocks: planks, stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates, doors, trapdoors, buttons, pressure plates, signs, and windows. Store your growing stock of ingredients in a Mahogany Chest or Willow Chest placed next to the cauldron.

Get your reference books

Craft a Book of Shadows and a Notebook. The Book of Shadows is your guide to what the mod's stations can do, and the Notebook is where you record what you discover as you work. Keep both in your inventory while you experiment at the cauldron and drying rack.

Start collecting

Before you branch into anything advanced, gather plant material and dry it on the Drying Rack. Dried output feeds directly into Mixing Cauldron recipes, so a rack running in the background keeps your cauldron supplied.
