Drying Rack: Turning Fresh Ingredients into Usable Materials

Craft and hang the rack

Craft a Drying Rack and place it. Wood variants — Mahogany Drying Rack and Willow Drying Rack — function identically, so choose based on the wood you already have. Place the rack where you can walk up to it easily, ideally beside your Mixing Cauldron so dried output is one step from where it gets used.

Put your fresh ingredients onto the rack. Drying is a timed process, not an instant craft: the items sit on the rack and convert over time. You do not need to babysit it. Load the rack, go do something else, and return to collect the dried results.

Route dried output into the cauldron

Dried material is the input the Mixing Cauldron is built around. Keep a chest beside the rack for staging dried goods, then move them to the cauldron in batches. If you find yourself waiting on dried ingredients, build a second rack rather than idling — two racks feeding one cauldron keeps the cauldron busy.

Use racks for bulk storage staging

Because racks hold items while they process, they double as a visible staging area. When you are preparing a large run of Infused Fabric Block or Cloth, line up multiple racks so you can see at a glance how much dried material is ready and how much is still working.
