Fixing Visual Issues Like Flickering or Color Problems

Addressing Flickering Shadows

If shadows flicker or shimmer as you move, this is usually a shadow distance setting issue. Reduce shadow distance in shader settings—this makes the shadow map smaller and more stable. Start by cutting it in half and test for 20 seconds.

If flickering persists, lower your render distance slightly. Hex Shaders calculates shadows for visible terrain, so extreme render distances can cause instability.

Color Grading Issues

Hex Shaders applies intentional color toning—the world may look warmer or cooler than vanilla Minecraft. This is not a bug; it's the shader's design.

If colors look washed out or oversaturated:

  • Check your monitor brightness and contrast settings first
  • Verify color grading is enabled in shader options
  • Try adjusting saturation or contrast sliders if available

General Troubleshooting

If visuals look corrupted or broken, disable the shader and re-enable it. If problems continue, verify your graphics drivers are up to date—Hex Shaders relies on modern GPU features.
