Adjusting Shader Settings for Your PC Performance
Access Shader Options
Open your pause menu and navigate to Options → Video Settings → Shaders. Select Hex Shaders from the list to open its configuration panel.
Key Performance Adjustments
If you're experiencing frame rate drops, reduce shadow quality first—this has the biggest performance impact. Look for shadow distance and shadow resolution settings and lower them incrementally until your frame rate stabilizes.
Disable or reduce:
- Shadow filtering (softness of shadow edges)
- Ambient occlusion (darkening in crevices)
- Volumetric effects (light rays through fog)
Balancing Quality and Speed
Hex Shaders is designed to run on low-end systems, so even minimal settings should look clean. If you want better visuals without lag, increase only one setting at a time and test gameplay for 30 seconds before adjusting further.
Keep color grading and tone mapping enabled—these cost little performance and define Hex Shaders' visual identity. Disable them only as a last resort.
