Adjust Smog Density and Visibility Distance
Finding the Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the key bound to shader settings (usually accessed through the Video Settings menu, then Shaders). Look for the Hazy Industrial Glow profile options.
Controlling Smog Thickness
Locate the fog density or haze intensity slider. Increasing this value thickens the smog layer, reducing visibility and creating a more oppressive atmosphere. Decreasing it allows more distant terrain to show through, useful if the default feels too claustrophobic.
Adjust the fog distance setting to control how far you can see before the haze becomes impenetrable. Lower values create a tighter, more claustrophobic industrial zone; higher values let you see further across your world.
Performance vs. Visual Impact
If adjusting these sliders causes lag, switch to a lower performance preset (potato or low) which uses simpler fog calculations. The smog effect will remain but with less strain on your system. Test changes in different biomes—the effect may appear more or less intense depending on your terrain and lighting.
