Create an Effective Base Layout for This Shader
Base Design Principles
With Haunted Cinematic Glow's fog, flickering torches, and eerie lighting, base layout becomes crucial for both safety and atmosphere.
Building Your Base
Separate functional areas. Create distinct zones for crafting, storage, sleeping, and farming. Thick fog makes large open spaces feel claustrophobic and disorienting—smaller, defined rooms feel safer.
Prioritize interior lighting. Light your base heavily with overlapping torches and glowstone. The flickering will still create mood, but dense placement ensures you can always see your workbenches and chests.
Use walls and doors strategically. Close off rooms with doors to contain light and create clear boundaries. This reduces the feeling of fog seeping into your safe spaces.
Build near the surface or in well-lit areas. Avoid placing your main base deep underground where screen degradation is intense. Higher elevations or near water/lava for natural light reduce the horror effect when you need to relax.
Create a perimeter. Surround your base with torches and fencing. The flickering light will deter mobs from approaching while maintaining the eerie atmosphere the shader creates.
