Make the World Look Brighter Without Overexposure

Understand Haste's Lighting Philosophy

Haste brightens the world compared to vanilla Minecraft while maintaining natural-looking lighting. The shader achieves this through improved ambient light distribution rather than flat brightness increases.

Adjust Ambient Light Settings

In Shader Options, locate the ambient light or global illumination slider. Increasing this makes shadowed areas brighter without washing out sunlit areas. This is the preferred method for brightening your world naturally.

Balance Exposure

If ambient light alone isn't enough, use the exposure slider carefully. Small increases (10-20%) add brightness without making the sky look blown out. Larger increases can make bright areas painful to look at.

Test in Different Biomes

Brightness needs vary by location. Test your settings in caves, forests, and open plains. A setting that looks perfect in a cave might overexpose a desert. Aim for a middle ground that works acceptably everywhere.
