Using Smithing Transform to Upgrade Machetes and Scythes
What smithing_transform does here
The mod includes 20 smithing_transform recipes. These let you convert an existing tool into a higher-tier version instead of crafting a brand-new one. This preserves your enchantments and saves the base materials of the lower tool.
How to run the transform
Build a smithing table. Place your current Machete or Scythe in the base slot, the upgrade material in the addition slot, and the required smithing template in the template slot. The output is the next-tier tool of the same type. For example, a Diamond Scythe plus a Netherite ingot and the matching template yields a Netherite Scythe; the same applies to Diamond Machete to Netherite Machete.
Which pairs to plan for
Because only 20 transform recipes exist, not every tier upgrades by smithing. Treat the transform as your endgame conversion path for the tools you have already invested enchantments into. If a transform is not available for a given pair, craft the higher tier directly with a crafting_shaped recipe using the new head material. Check the smithing table output before committing rare ingots, and keep a spare template on hand so you can upgrade both your Scythe and your Machete without a second trip.
