How to Craft Your First Flint Scythe and Flint Machete

Gather the basics

Flint Scythe and Flint Machete are the entry points into the scythe and machete lines. You need flint, which you get by digging gravel until flint drops, plus sticks from planks. Both tools are made with a crafting_shaped recipe, so a standard crafting table is enough.

Craft both tools

Place your flint and sticks into the crafting grid in the tool patterns you already know from vanilla tools: the Scythe uses a wider arrangement of flint with sticks forming the handle, while the Machete uses a shorter blade layout. Once crafted, the Flint Scythe is your area-harvesting tool for crops and grass, and the Flint Machete is your quick-cutting blade for plants and light combat.

Move up the tiers

Every later tool in the mod follows the same two shapes, only the head material changes. When you have Copper, Iron, Golden, Diamond, or Netherite ingots, swap the flint head for that material in the same grid to get Copper Scythe, Copper Machete, Iron Scythe, Iron Machete, Golden Scythe, Golden Machete, Diamond Scythe, Diamond Machete, Netherite Scythe, and Netherite Machete. Keep your Flint versions as backups or pass them to a friend, then reinvest your better ingots into the next tier as soon as you have enough.
