How to Light and Use the Primitive Stove

Lighting the Stove

The Primitive Stove is a light and heat block. Place it, then use your Fire Starter on it to bring it to life. Once lit it acts as a fixed light source you do not have to refuel like a torch.

When to Choose the Stove Over Torches

Torches and lanterns burn down and need relighting or refueling. The Primitive Stove stays where you put it and serves as a permanent fixture. Use it to anchor a base, a mining outpost, or any spot you return to often.

Because it is a block rather than a carried item, plan its placement. Put it where you want lasting light, not where you are just passing through.

Keeping It Lit

If the stove goes out, relight it with the Fire Starter, the same tool you use on Unlit Torch, Unlit Soul Torch, Unlit Lantern, Unlit Soul Lantern, and Unlit Campfire. One Fire Starter covers every ignition task in the mod.

Pair the stove with a Lantern Oil Can and spare Unlit Lantern blocks for areas the stove cannot reach, so your base stays lit even when you move between rooms.
