Upgrading to Diamond Firearms: Shotgun, Sniper, and Gatling

Diamond-Tier Guns

Once you have diamonds, three upgraded firearms become available: the Diamond Shotgun, the Diamond Sniper, and the Diamond Gatling. Each is crafted with a shaped recipe that consumes diamonds plus the components of the lower-tier gun. Build an Iron Gun first — it is the base for the diamond upgrades.

Picking the Right Gun

The Diamond Shotgun fires multiple pellets per shot, ideal for close-range crowd control in caves or against mob packs. The Diamond Sniper trades fire rate for long-range single-target damage, useful for picking off threats before they reach you. The Diamond Gatling trades accuracy for sustained fire, best when you have a wall of bullets and a target that will not stop moving.

All three accept the same bullet types as the Iron Gun, so your existing ammo stock carries over. Keep a Bullet Bag stocked with Iron Bullets or better for each.

Ammo for Diamond Guns

Higher-tier bullets are worth the cost once you have diamond guns. Blaze Bullets and Prismarine Bullets are crafted through their own recipes and deal elemental-style damage. Explosive Bullets are the heaviest option — save them for groups or blocks you want gone. Carry a mix so you can swap based on the fight.
