How to Paint Your Gun and Gear

Gather the paints

The mod includes eleven paint items: Black Paint, Blue Paint, Green Paint, Orange Paint, Pink Paint, Red Paint, Turquoise Paint, White Paint, Yellow Paint, plus the remaining colors in the set. They are used to recolor your equipment so you can tell builds apart or match a biome.

Why color matters in practice

When you own several guns in the same caliber — for example two M16A4 builds, or an AK-74M and a Scar-L — identical finishes make it easy to grab the wrong one. Paint each build a distinct color:

• Green Paint or Turquoise Paint for a woodland or swamp loadout.
• White Paint for snow.
• Yellow Paint or Orange Paint for high-visibility storage guns.
• Red Paint for a designated emergency weapon.
• Black Paint for a plain, low-contrast finish.
• Blue Paint, Pink Paint for anything you want to spot instantly in a chest.

Apply the paint

1. Finish the gun at the Gun Maker and fit attachments at the Gun Table first.

2. Apply the paint item to the finished weapon.

3. Repeat for each build, using a different color per gun.

4. Store each color-coded gun with its matching ammunition — 5.45×39mm with the AK-74M, 5.56×45mm with the M16A4 and Scar-L, 7.62×51mm with the Scar-H, 7.62×54mm with the SV98, Hunter, and Coyote.

Paint last, after assembly and attachments, so you do not repaint a gun you are still modifying.
