Understanding How the Groot Totem Still Works as Protection

The Groot Totem of Undying Resource Pack is purely visual. The wooden tree character design replaces only the appearance—all protective mechanics remain identical to vanilla:

1. Carry a Totem of Undying in your inventory or hotbar

2. When you take fatal damage, the totem automatically activates

3. You're restored to half a heart and given temporary effects (Regeneration, Absorption, Fire Resistance)

4. The totem is consumed after use

What Stays the Same

• Activation range and detection
• Damage types that trigger protection
• Buff durations and strength
• Consumption mechanic
• Compatibility with other mods and vanilla features

The only difference is what you see in your hands and inventory. The Groot design makes your survival tool more visually appealing without changing how it saves your life during dangerous situations.
