Troubleshoot Grayscale Lightmap Shaders Not Appearing

Verify Activation

Open your world's pause menu and go to Settings > Resource Packs. Confirm that Grayscale Lightmap Shaders appears in the Active section on the right side. If it's in the inactive list on the left, click the arrow to move it to active.

Check for Conflicting Packs

If another resource pack also modifies the lightmap, it may override Grayscale Lightmap Shaders. Look at your active pack list and disable any packs with names mentioning "lightmap," "lighting," or "shaders." Then reorder so Grayscale Lightmap Shaders is at the bottom of your active list.

Reload Your World

After making changes to your resource packs, the effect may not update immediately. Exit to the main menu and re-enter your world. The grayscale lighting should now be visible in caves and at night.

Visual Confirmation

The lighting should appear desaturated and muted compared to normal Minecraft. If it still looks normal, double-check that the pack is truly active and no other packs are overriding it.
