Using the Grappling Hook Modifier Block

Placing and Opening the Modifier

Craft and place the Grappling Hook Modifier block. Interact with it to open its interface. This block is the only way to attach upgrades to a Grappling Hook, so keep one near your base or carry the materials to make one on the move.

Applying Upgrades

Put your Grappling Hook and the upgrade item you want into the Grappling Hook Modifier. Valid upgrade items include:

• Base Grappling Hook Upgrade
• Double Grappling Hook Upgrade
• Rope Grappling Hook Upgrade
• Motor Grappling Hook Upgrade
• Rocket Grappling Hook Upgrade
• Swing Grappling Hook Upgrade
• Forcefield Grappling Hook Upgrade
• Hook Magnet Grappling Hook Upgrade
• Hook Thrower Grappling Hook Upgrade
• Limits Grappling Hook Upgrade
• Ender Staff Grappling Hook Upgrade

Take the resulting hook out of the modifier and test it. If a behaviour does not suit you, return the hook to the Grappling Hook Modifier and apply a different upgrade. Because upgrades are handled in the modifier rather than at a crafting table, you can iterate on a single Grappling Hook instead of rebuilding it each time.
