Using the Grappling Hook Modifier

The Grappling Hook Modifier is the block you use to change a hook. Place it down, then interact with it while holding your Grappling Hook and the upgrade you want to apply. Upgrades are separate items, so craft the one you need first, then combine it at the modifier.

Upgrade Items and What They Change

• Base Grappling Hook Upgrade — the starting upgrade tier for a hook.
• Rope Grappling Hook Upgrade — affects the rope and reach.
• Hook Thrower Grappling Hook Upgrade — changes how the hook is thrown.
• Hook Magnet Grappling Hook Upgrade — improves how the hook grabs surfaces.
• Swing Grappling Hook Upgrade — improves swinging motion.
• Motor Grappling Hook Upgrade — adds motorised pull.
• Limits Grappling Hook Upgrade — adjusts the hook's limits.
• Forcefield Grappling Hook Upgrade — ties the hook to forcefield behaviour.
• Ender Staff Grappling Hook Upgrade — links the hook to the Ender Staff.
• Rocket Grappling Hook Upgrade — adds rocket propulsion.
• Double Grappling Hook Upgrade — allows a second hook line.

Progression Order

Apply the Base Grappling Hook Upgrade first, then layer the movement upgrades you want. The Motor Grappling Hook Upgrade leads toward the Motorized Grappling Hook, and the Rocket Grappling Hook Upgrade leads toward the Rocket Grappling Hook. Keep the modifier block nearby so you can swap upgrades without recrafting the hook.
