Building a Motorized or Rocket Grappling Hook

Upgrade your Grappling Hook with the Motor Grappling Hook Upgrade to get a Motorized Grappling Hook. This adds powered pull to the hook, so reeling in is driven rather than purely manual.

From there you can go further:

• Smart Motorized Grappling Hook — a motorized variant with smarter behavior.
• Dual Motorized Grappling Hooks — two motorized hooks working together.
• Rocket Dual Motorized Grappling Hooks — dual motorized hooks with rocket propulsion added.

Rocket Path

Apply the Rocket Grappling Hook Upgrade to a Grappling Hook to get a Rocket Grappling Hook. This adds rocket thrust to the hook's launch or pull.

Combine paths for the strongest results. Rocket Dual Motorized Grappling Hooks sit at the top of the chain: dual motorized hooks plus rocket propulsion. To reach it, work up through the motorized line and add the rocket upgrade.

Managing Upgrades

Use the Grappling Hook Modifier block to apply and organize upgrades. The Grappling Hook Modifier item is also available for on-the-go changes. Keep upgrade items such as Motor Grappling Hook Upgrade, Rocket Grappling Hook Upgrade, and Double Grappling Hook Upgrade on hand so you can reconfigure your hook without recrafting it from scratch.
