Placing Your Ant Colony

The Ant Hill is the natural-looking block that ants relate to. Place an Ant Hill in your base area, then use an Ant Spawn Egg nearby to bring ants into the world. Ants will move around the Ant Hill.

Collecting Ants in Bottles

Use a Bottle o' Ant to capture or hold ants. The Bottle o' Ant is both an item and a placeable block, so you can store captured ants and place the bottle down as a display or holding container. Keep spare bottles on hand when working near an Ant Hill.

Building the Ant Farm

The Ant Farm is a crafted block. Combine your ant-related materials at a crafting table to produce it. Once crafted, place the Ant Farm as a contained habitat for your ants, separate from the open Ant Hill setup. This lets you keep a colony indoors or in a controlled space.

Managing Your Setup

Run two setups if you want both: an outdoor Ant Hill for free-roaming ants and an indoor Ant Farm for a contained colony. Use the Ant Spawn Egg to restock either one. Bottle o' Ant lets you move ants between locations without losing them.
