How to Use the Magic Staff and Goblin Soul Bullets

Getting the Pieces

You need a Magic Staff and Goblin Soul Bullets. Goblin Soul Bullets are the ammunition the Magic Staff fires. Keep both in your inventory before you head out. Craft or otherwise obtain the Magic Staff, then make sure you have a stack of Goblin Soul Bullets ready.

Firing the Staff

Hold the Magic Staff and use it to fire Goblin Soul Bullets at your target. Each shot consumes a Goblin Soul Bullet, so carry more than you think you need. The staff is your ranged option against the mod's hostile mobs, including Gobs, Gobbers, Goblos, Gooms, Hobgobs, Ogres, Garchs, Mimics, and the Goblin King. Fire from a distance and back away between shots so melee mobs cannot close the gap.

Managing Ammo in a Fight

Before entering a dungeon room, top up on Goblin Soul Bullets and keep them in a hotbar slot you can reach quickly. Do not empty the staff into a single target if several mobs are approaching; spread your shots and reposition. When you run low, retreat and restock rather than fighting in melee with an empty staff. Pair the staff with a Ring of Health or Ring of Stealth if you expect a long fight.
