How to Make Soul Ash and Ashed Soul Sand

Soul Campfires are the source of Soul Ash. Place a Soul Campfire and let it burn. While it is lit, Soul Ash accumulates and can be collected from it. A regular Campfire does not produce Soul Ash, so make sure you are using the Soul Campfire block specifically.

Collecting and Using Soul Ash

Pick up Soul Ash from your Soul Campfires and stockpile it. Soul Ash is the material you bring to Ashed Soul Sand. Combine Soul Ash with Soul Sand to produce Ashed Soul Sand. Ashed Soul Sand is a decorative and functional block in the Scoria and soul-themed builds, and it pairs naturally with Soul Campfires, Urns, and Scoria Pavement when you are constructing dungeon-style rooms.

Practical Setup

Build a row of Soul Campfires in a safe, roofed area so rain and mobs do not interrupt collection. Leave space to walk between them so you can grab Soul Ash without stepping into the fire. Store Soul Ash in a chest next to your Soul Sand supply so converting to Ashed Soul Sand is quick. If you are decorating a dungeon room, alternate Ashed Soul Sand with Scoria Pavement and place Urns along the walls to tie the palette together.
