How to Build a Scoria Dungeon Room

Choosing the Palette

A dungeon room reads well when you commit to the Scoria family. Use Scoria Bricks for the main walls, Chiseled Scoria Bricks for accent panels, and Cracked Scoria Bricks for damaged sections. Polished Scoria and its Slab, Stairs, Vertical Slab, and Wall variants give you clean trim and railings. Scoria Pillar works as a column between wall sections, and Scoria Pavement makes a solid floor.

Laying Out the Room

Start with a rectangular floor of Scoria Pavement. Build walls of Scoria Bricks up to your ceiling height, then inset Chiseled Scoria Bricks every few blocks for detail. Use Scoria Pillar at the corners and at doorways. Line the top of the walls with Scoria Brick Slab or Scoria Brick Vertical Slab as a cornice. Polished Scoria Stairs make a short entry step, and Polished Scoria Wall can edge a raised platform.

Lighting and Props

Place Soul Campfires for light and to produce Soul Ash while you build. Set Urns along the walls and in corners. Scatter Ashed Soul Sand in patches on the floor for a worn look. Keep a stonecutter nearby so you can cut more Slab, Stairs, Vertical Slab, and Wall pieces as you go instead of running back to a crafting station.
