Building with Underground Wood: Planks, Stairs, and Doors

From Log to Planks

Underground Wood is the base building material. Break Underground Wood into Underground Planks at a crafting table, then use those planks for the rest of the set. Stripped Underground Wood is also available if you want a cleaner log look for pillars and beams.

Crafting the Full Block Set

From Underground Planks you can craft Underground Stairs, Underground Slab, Underground Fence, Underground Fence Gate, Underground Door, Underground Trapdoor, Underground Pressure Plate, Underground Button, and Underground Ladder. Each uses the standard vanilla-style recipe for that block type, so arrange planks in the familiar patterns. Underground Bookshelf is also craftable from planks and books if you want a decorative storage block.

Putting It Together

Use Underground Planks for floors and walls, Underground Stairs for roof lines, and Underground Slab for ceilings and half-height trim. Underground Fence and Underground Fence Gate enclose animals or mark paths. Underground Door and Underground Trapdoor close off rooms and floor openings, while Underground Pressure Plate and Underground Button wire up simple redstone. Underground Ladder lets you climb vertical shafts without carving full staircases. Keep a chest of planks near your build site so you can craft pieces on demand.
