Turning Coal Variants into Coke

Coke Oven Inputs

Geolosys adds several coal types: Coal, Lignite, Bituminous Coal, and Anthracitic Coal, plus their deepslate forms Deepslate Coal, Deepslate Lignite, Deepslate Bituminous Coal, and Deepslate Anthracitic Coal. Lignite and Bituminous Coal are the practical coke feedstocks.

Place Lignite or Bituminous Coal into a coke oven. The oven processes them into Lignite Coal Coke and Bituminous Coal Coke respectively. These coke items burn hotter and longer than the raw coal, which matters for sustained smelting runs.

Fuel Planning

Anthracitic Coal and Anthracite Coal are the highest-grade solid fuels in the mod and are best saved for direct furnace use rather than coking. Use Lignite first since it is the lowest grade, then Bituminous Coal once your Lignite runs dry. Peat is another burnable block you can harvest and use as low-tier fuel before you have a steady coal supply.

Keep coke output separate from raw coal in your storage so you don't accidentally burn coke as ordinary fuel. A coke oven running continuously on Bituminous Coal will keep a bank of furnaces fed through a long smelting session.
