Breeding Genetic Animals: A Practical Workflow

Setting Up Breeding Pairs

Breeding works across the mod's animals: Genetic Cow, Genetic Pig, Genetic Sheep, Genetic Chicken, Genetic Rabbit, Genetic Llama, Genetic Mooshroom, Genetic Turtle, and Genetic Axolotl. Place two adults of the same species near each other and feed them to trigger breeding. Offspring inherit traits from both parents, so keep notes on which pairs produce the results you want. Use a Genetic [species] Spawn Egg to add a new adult when you need fresh blood in your line.

Managing Milk and Other Products

Genetic Cows and Genetic Mooshrooms produce milk you can collect in buckets and bottles. Partial containers exist as One Sixth Filled Milk Bucket, One Third Filled Milk Bucket, Half Filled Milk Bucket, Two Thirds Filled Milk Bucket, Five Sixths Filled Milk Bucket, and Half Filled Milk Bottle, with a full Milk Bottle as the finished product. This means milking can fill a container gradually rather than all at once, so keep partially filled buckets and bottles on hand and top them up over multiple milkings. For other species, breed toward the traits you want and keep the best offspring. Use the Debugging Book if a breeding result looks wrong, since it helps report genetics-related bugs. Move unwanted animals away so they do not consume your breeding pair's food or space.
