Prevent Specific Mobs From Having Slowed Animations

Using the Whitelist System

Some mobs—like bosses or mobs you want to watch closely—should always animate at full speed. The mod provides whitelist filters to protect them from animation throttling.

Adding Mobs to the Whitelist

1. Open config/geckolib_animation_optimizer-client.toml

2. Find the whitelist section for normal mobs and the separate boss whitelist

3. Add the mob's registry name to the appropriate list (format depends on your mod setup)

4. Save and reload your world

Boss Protection

The mod includes built-in boss fight protection. During active combat with a boss, their animations remain at full speed automatically. If a boss isn't recognized:

  • Check if it's registered as a boss entity in its mod
  • Manually add it to the boss whitelist if needed

Testing Your Changes

Spawn or encounter the whitelisted mob and verify animations stay smooth at distance. If issues persist, double-check the mob's exact registry name in the configuration file.
