How to Craft Furniture with the Furniture Making Recipe Type

Using the Furniture Making Recipe

Almost every block in this mod is produced through the furnish:furniture_making recipe type. This is a dedicated station-style recipe, not a normal crafting table grid, so you cannot make a Chair or a Sofa by throwing planks into a 3x3.

To make furniture, gather the base material the piece calls for and process it through the furniture making recipe. Wood-family pieces (Acacia Chair, Birch Bench, Cherry Cabinet, Crimson Shelf, Bamboo Table, and the rest of the wood sets) are built from their matching wood type. Colour-family pieces (Black Sofa, Blue Curtain, Brown Plate, Cyan Amphora, Black Paper Lamp, and so on) are built from their matching dye colour plus the base item.

Practical Order of Operations

1. Pick the wood you want: Acacia, Bamboo, Birch, Cherry, or Crimson.

2. Craft the small pieces first — Stool, Chair, Bedside Table, Shelf — because they need the least material.

3. Move up to Bench, Table, Square Table, Pedestal Table, Log Bench.

4. Finish with the storage and large pieces: Crate, Cabinet, Kitchen Cabinet, Wardrobe, Ladder, Shutter.

For colour variants, decide your palette before you start. A Black Sofa and a Blue Sofa use the same recipe shape but different dye, so batch your dye first. The same applies to Awning, Curtain, Paper Lamp, Plate, Showcase, and Amphora in each colour.

Because 302 of the 304 registered blocks use this one recipe type, once you understand the pattern for one wood set you understand all five, and once you understand one colour set you understand every colour.
