Crafting Seating: Chairs, Stools, Benches, and Sofas

Wood Seating

Each wood type has four wooden seating pieces: Chair, Stool, Bench, and Log Bench. Acacia Chair, Acacia Stool, Acacia Bench, Acacia Log Bench — and the same four for Bamboo, Birch, Cherry, and Crimson.

Log Bench is the odd one out: it reads as a rougher, log-style seat and pairs well with outdoor builds, while Bench is the cleaner indoor version.

Coloured Seating

Sofas are the colour-family seating. Black Sofa, Blue Sofa, Brown Sofa, and Cyan Sofa are all made through the furnish:furniture_making recipe type using the matching dye.

Crafting Order

1. Stool first — smallest seat, cheapest craft.

2. Chair next for a standard single seat.

3. Bench for two-or-more seating along a wall.

4. Log Bench for outdoor or rustic areas.

5. Sofa last if you are using a colour family, since it consumes dye.

Match your seating to the room. A Black Sofa with a Black Curtain and Black Paper Lamp reads as a lounge; four Acacia Chairs around an Acacia Table reads as a dining room.

Do not mix wood seating and coloured seating in the same tight space unless you are deliberately contrasting — the wood tones and the flat dye colours fight each other.
